Nakakapagod pero exciting...hmm.....

all seasons in one day

Basta, will post pics when I get back.

Ghosts of Mississippi

I wrote this a year ago. I felt it would be fitting to re-publish it since I am bothered with the discrimination CSAs go through everyday.

sunny

ghosts.jpg
I watched this movie ages ago. I remember being emotionally affected that I stayed away from watching it a second time. Imagine my surprise when I learned that TSA has yet to see this film.

As fate would have it, it was showing on HBO last Sunday. A common rest day for me and TSA, we decided to watch the movie together. And just like several years ago, it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Ghosts of Mississippi recounts the retrial and conviction of the assassin of Civil Rights leader Medgar Evers, some 30 years after the murder. The movie describes the workings of the legal system, a widow's perseverance and crusade for justice, as well as a prosecutor's commitment to righting an old wrong.

I was clenching my fists everytime I hear the perpetrator talking on the screen. There was one scene wherein he even said 'it is better to kill a black man than to kill a deer. Deers are more important'. James Woods did such a good job in this film. He was so believable. Good thing I didn't see him after watching this film for I might do him bodily harm.

Discrimination has so many faces. This movie dealt with racial discrimination. As a call center agent, I have been a victim myself. I always get customers whose first questions were "Are you in the United States / United Kingdom? Are you white?" Whenever I say no, these people immediately and rudely ask to be transferred to an american/british agent. Honestly, what difference does it make if an Asian handles the reservation? Do you really expect that you will get better service from blondes compared to brunettes? It is so baffling how people can be so dense, so thickheaded. So stubborn to listen to reason. Do you really think you are more superior than us? How so? I tell you, whatever the American/British agent can do, I can do as well. Maybe even better. We all went through the same training. I assure you, my dear racist customer, there are no special training courses for white agents.

I will never understand how some gauge a person's worth by the color of their skin. Just because your skin tone is lighter, your eyes blue and your hair blond, it does not mean that you are superior from everyone else. What determines your worth as a person is what is in your heart. Your character. One of the best truths in life can be found in a children's book "The Little Prince". Antoine de Saint-Exupery brilliantly wrote that 'What is essential is invisible to the eye'. And to this day, I am amazed at how a single sentence resonates with such honesty that is comprehensible and obvious to readers of all ages.

Discrimination towards members of the third sex is another issue. Like I once told my good friend Addy, a person's worth is measured not by his sexual preferences but by the pureness of his heart. How would you like it if society, your government, tells you that you cannot marry the person you love? What is so wrong about loving someone of the same sex?

I firmly believe that we are all created equal. All with hearts meant to feel love, and arms meant to embrace the person beside you, regardless of their color or preference. We are after all, whether we accept it or not, one big family in this small world. And nothing can change that.

San ka na Pedra?

sunny

fedra.jpg

Hanep... Hindi lang 18 roses yan... 18thousand!

Best Friends Forever

I miss you sis Addy. Hayaan mo sila magkandarapa. hehehe

Ang mga hula ni Musang

crystal-ball.jpg

Nakilala ko si Musang through Anne Curtis. Magkateam kasi sila.

As in, lahat ng predistions nya for the team ay natupad.

Shift : 3pm to 12am
Rest Days : Sat - Sun

Talaga lang Musang ha? Never pa namin naranasan ang Sat - Sun na RD. Pag nagkamali ka sa prediction,naku... Lagot!

Grand Questors join the Singing Bee

the-singing-bee.jpg

The Klepto Diaries

at paglalabas ng galit sa buhay...

overcast

The reason? And within the office premises no less! Di man lang naisip ang mga guards natin na in fairness naman ay okay makitungo sa mga empleyado. Tsk, tsk.

Here are their stories:

TELETECH

Pati mga payong dun, parang free for all.

Oh my!

JOAQUIN BURDADO IS BACK

Thank you sobra Joaquin sa super cutie coin purse na bigay mo. Hope you had a blast sa Thailand. By the way, sino yung sinundo mo kagabi? Hehehe

ROSALINDA

RosalindaP..pines-1.jpg

Welcome to the Grand Circle Quest group. Sana maging masaya ka sa amin. San si Fernando Jose?

LOCHI

2 male white puppies and 1 black female pup. Super balbon at cute. Will take pictures next week pag nagpa deworm na sila para super cuteness talaga.

Accountability

[12:47] WA: hi.. got cust here o ctn 07538-******
[12:47] WA: wants to talk to you
[12:48] WA: re deleting one of the family members incorrectly and adding one
[12:48] WA: wasnt able to im your manager bec cant see her name on jeti under TMs.
[12:52] CSA: i spelled out the name that she wanted to remove and also spelled out the name of the person she wants to invite
[12:52] WA: pls callback cust. she's waiting for your call. tried to assist but cant add another member and delete bec they will the unl sevrices re family services.she wants to talk to you.
[12:53] WA: i tried my best and apologized but she wants to talk to you.

O diba? You are obviously saving your ass because you do not know what you are doing! Tapos tinanong kita kung sino supervisor mo diba? Ano sagot mo. She's on leave.

Shop and Share galore

I wish...

sunny

ruffa_g_008.jpg

Perfect talaga. The stuff dreams are made of... Tsaka parang tinatawag nya talaga ko "Neng I was made for you". At sa tulad ko na may sakit that fateful day na nagtune in ako kay Ted Failon at Karen Davila, para syang tubig sa gitna ng desyerto.

Ano ba ang tinutukoy ko? Well, just look at the pic above. Per their website:

Shop and Share is a project conceptualized by Filipino actress and Red Cross Ambassador Angel Locsin. Along with her fellow Filipino celebrity friends-Ann Curtis, Kris Aquino, Ruffa Guttierez, Luis Manzano and Pokwang, Ambassador Locsin has posted several designer items up for auction. Proceeds of the sales will go to the Philippine National Red Cross’ disaster relief efforts.

O diba? Bonggacious.

At Size 10. Size ko pa talaga. Magbibid sana ako... Kaso nasa $149 na. My God, halos P7,500. Shit talaga... Sorry Ruffa. Ayaw tayo pagtagpuin ng tadhana.

Vertigo

Three days ako nawala. I was diagnosed with vertigo last March 2009, after working for one of the worst call centers I had the misfortune of stumbling into. (Clue: Sa Libis sya.) Pero last week, natakot talaga ako. My vertigo came back with a vengeance. It is a very scary illness that leaves a person helpless.

Vertigo (from the Latin vertigin-, vertigo, "dizziness," originally "a whirling or spinning movement," from vertō "I turn"[1]) is a specific type of dizziness, a major symptom of a balance disorder. It is the sensation of spinning or swaying while the body is actually stationary with respect to the surroundings.

The effects of vertigo may be slight. It can cause nausea and vomiting and, in severe cases, it may give rise to difficulties with standing and walking.

LOCHI!!!

Congratulations are in order! TSA and Chocoboy just texted me. Lochi just gave birth to three beautiful pups. Will post pics on my rest day!!! Lola na naman ako!!! :)

The Evil Twin Sisters of Eastern Somalia

The Beginning...

overcast

Himala! In fairness, malaki ang sahod ngayon. Lahat ng kausap ko nag aagree. Aminin nyo yan! Nung last pay yun. Tandang tanda ko pa, parang kahapon lang...

RU68707witch.jpg

September 30, 2009 flashback

Tabaing Evil Twin Sister (TETS): Ah ganun ba. Patpatin, ano nangyari dito?

Kasi six thousand na yung kinaltas sa akin all in all.

TETS: Hindi. Hintayin mo tax refund next year. (sabay talikod)

Rude noh? Pero based on stories I have heard ganyan talaga sila. How ironic. Wala naman naitutulong sa mga empleyado.

Balik sa kwento... Pumunta ako ng station ko. Nakausap ko yung ibang may dispute din. Yung isa kong kawave, pareho kami ng naging sitwasyon. Naging Zero exemption din sya sa tax. Pero yung kanya, inadjust nung next pay. So, bumalik ako sa Eastern Somalia.

Ibang case yun.

CSA: Bakit kasi hindi naaayos? May 7, 2009 pa ako empleyado dito. May pirma lahat.

TETS: Ano ba kasi Pets ang nangyari dito?

PETS: Sya yung re-hire. Diba hindi na natin makita?

(Aha!!! So, naiwala nga yung docs ko diba?)

CSA: Bakit ganun? Nakailang pasa na ako ng BIR Form.

PETS: Wala kang pinapasa sa akin.

At this point, di na sila nagsalita.

CSA: Sorry talaga Pedra.

Or hintayin mo yung lunch mo, para half day.

CSA: Sorry talaga Pedra. Ayoko na. Gusto ko na talagang umuwi.

To make a long story short, umuwi ako pagkatapos ma super OB sa 1st break.

Hello Rainbow Brite!

all seasons in one day

rainbow-brite.jpg

Napansin ko lang. hard not to notice actually.

Naka-bodyfit na sunshine yellow na t-shirt...

Silver high heels...

Who would have thought?

How was your rest day?

all seasons in one day

As usual, di ko naramdaman ang rest days. Parang napadaan lang. Panay tulog lang ang ginawa ko. Pagod na pagod ako sobra. Tapos pag gabi, hindi makatulog. Sirang sira ang body clock. And just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, nagising na lang ako na namamaga ang mga labi ko. I hate it sobra... Sakit.

Himala! Ibinalik ang handset ng 38B/C. Siguro 38B/C, threatening ang pagsabi mo ng Kuya (as in "kuya huwag po!) ... Hehehe

Ms. India

Actually, 2 days absent si Ms. India last week. From her comfort zone Makati, lumipat ang kanyang pamilya sa Parañaque. I'm sure napagod sya sa pag-eempake at pagliligpit. Ang hirap kaya maglipat. Take it from me, ang tagal bago uli maging noramal ang buhay ng isang taong bagong lipat. Kalurky.

Baby Gurl

Two days din absent last week si Baby Gurl... Yung 1st absence, scheduled leave. Yung pangalawa, nagkasakit. Sore throat. Meron daw antibiotic na two weeks nya dapat inumin. P45 ang isa. Meron ding isa pang gamot for 10 days prescribed, P28 ang isa. Ang huli, nasal spray na P300+ ang presyo. Syempre, matipid ang Baby Gurl. Nang magcompute sya at narealize nya na mahigit P2,000 ang mauubos nya sa pagbili pa lang ng gamot, he made the most rational decision that came to her mind - Sinutab ang binili nya. Sana lang Baby Gurl, 3-in-1 yang nabili mong Sinutab.

Santino

Japorms!!! Red shirt with matching new crocs.

Basta bagong jacket.

Pokemon

Syempre shala ang Pokemon. Kumain sa Persia Grill with Jowa and friends... Last but not the least, caregiver para sa Jowa na nagkasakit. May sakit hehehe kemene!

An Open Letter

rain

large_fish.jpg

You will never know how much I wished for this day to pass me by unnoticed, unremembered. But try as I might, here it is and I am reminded by you.

Maybe I was too confident about my position in your life. After all, I know and feel that no one can ever take your place in mine. Yet in the past couple of months, my faith in our relationship was tested. And the quilt that once told the beautiful yet tumultuous road that is our life together, now lay tattered beyond recognition at my feet.

I would probably hear snippets about you here and there. We moved in the same circles way too long for me to avoid that. Even if I changed my number a million times and moved halfway around the world, I am sure I'd still get news about you.

I remember how much you loved singing Blue Bayou. But now, I doubt if I will ever hear your voice, much more lay eyes on you ever again. You, whom I thought would always be a constant presence in my life, is now nothing but a part of my past. One that will remain buried in the deepest recesses of my heart.

I have realized that a big part of my soul was tied to my love for you. You must be aware that I was hurt by the callousness and insensitivity that you have directed towards me. What you are not aware of though is that you have damaged me beyond repair. And what you have taken, no one can ever replace.

So, today I am letting you go. Our story has reached its end and your name will never pass from my lips again. And for the last time, I wish you "Happy Birthday".
